Our vacation campsite near Pottenstein, which is open all year round, covers an area of 50,000 square meters and invites you to spend your vacations in a charming rocky valley. Our campsite has a total of 160 pitches, all of which are numbered to make it easier for you to find your way around. There are also around 60 permanent pitches.

Equipment
Our campsite offers modern sanitary facilities, a separate sanitary room for the disabled, individual washing and shower cubicles and children’s shower basins.
A spacious kitchen, washing and drying room and a camper van disposal station are also available.
Completely renovated restaurant and store
Our newly renovated restaurant offers Franconian cuisine, fish and game specialties.

Our restaurant will be closed from November 10, 2025 up to and including March 26, 2026.
In summer you can enjoy our terrace with 32 seats, while our indoor area offers space for 70 guests.
Our small self-service store provides you with everything you need for your stay.
Leisure activities
Our campsite is located in one of the most beautiful vacation and hiking areas in Franconian Switzerland. Numerous hiking trails start directly from the campsite in every direction. Our campsite is also located in the climbing paradise of Franconian Switzerland, ideal for experienced climbers with difficult routes. Climbing is also possible on the rock face on our campsite itself, but these routes are not for beginners.
Our playground offers lots of fun and variety for children, including splashing around in the shallow stream.
Fishing enthusiasts get their money’s worth in our own trout waters (fishing license required).

Our Bärenschlucht campsite is characterized by its natural and well-kept surroundings in Franconian Switzerland. With 160 pitches and around 60 permanent campers, we offer plenty of space for those seeking relaxation. Our site is ideal for hikers and nature lovers who want to explore the Püttlachtal valley.
We are proud to be one of the most beautiful campsites in the region and have been awarded four stars.

The campsite is in an idyllic location. Ideal for hiking or climbing. The sanitary facilities are in good condition. Operator always friendly, bread roll service and a small store is available. Dogs are allowed on the site. Satisfied all round.
The restaurant on the square is highly recommended. Price-performance ratio exceptional. Can only recommend the game dishes, never eaten so well on a campsite. Service Staff has a great sense of humor
A wonderful campsite to relax with friendly operators in a fantastic location. We really enjoyed our time here and were delighted to cool off in the clear riverbed. Fresh bread rolls for a great start to the day are available directly at the campsite. Various hikes can be undertaken from there, for example directly to Pottenstein. We can also highly recommend the campsite for families with children and dogs and look forward to seeing you again.

Pitches for caravans and motorhomes do not need to be reserved.

– Night rest from 22:00
– Open fires are only permitted on the tent meadow. And here only in fire pans with a minimum ground clearance of 20 cm.
– Barbecues are permitted throughout the campsite. The minimum ground clearance of 20 cm also applies here.
– There are fishing opportunities on the campsite (only with a fishing license).
